Happy Mother's Day.

Hello ladies, today is Mother's day. What is your relationship with your mother like?

I have always loved my mum, there is really nothing not to love about her. Growing up, we did not always see eye-to-eye because we have different personalities.
I liked to brood and contemplate life while my mum loved a bubbly atmosphere and hates self-pity. I liked to get moody and go on long journeys in the mind, picking up different thoughts as I went, good or bad; but my mum always wondered how one could think and sigh and sigh;  she really likes to laugh and have joy around her, lol. That was when I was in my teenage years though. I love my mum and I am so grateful that she treated me gently in my moods and growing years.

My mum taught me to protect the weak, we always thought she loved one child more than the other, but she said, "when you become a mum, you will know you are to defend the weak child". Till tomorrow, I am drawn to the weak, the one who no one wants to relate with, the one who is despised, my mum taught me that and it is pleasing to the Lord as well. The Lord Jesus had very few wealthy whole friends. He said, come, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden and I will give you rest. The Bible says Jesus dwelt in desolate places, lonely places; for some reason, I am drawn to the Lord Jesus because of this. I also remember Leah in the Bible, God opened her womb because she was hated. So, if you are hated, I can assure you that God has you as His priority.

My mum is sacrificial and loves her kids fiercely. I couldn't have asked for a better mum. You know, my mum was a widow at some point and she was pretty young then. By the grace of the Lord, she raised four girls, ensured they received the best education and worked herself to the bone. She had no fancy clothes but just what was enough. One reason, why I love the Dolly Parton song, "coat of many colors". Oh, my mum loves country music as well, Kenny Rogers but her favorite artiste has to be Chief Commander Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, he has songs packed with wisdom and I learnt a lot from these songs as my mum sang them.
My sisters and myself went to the best schools in Nigeria and my mum was always there, encouraging and ensuring we completed our first degree with top grades. My mum is my mentor when it comes to showing love to your kids, she really will forever be a blessing to me and all that meet her.

I always tease her that wherever she goes, she keeps adopting children; at her workplace, the neighbors, everyone regards her as their mum. My mum is so precious to me, she is strong and faithful. She is fun and loves to dance. She is hilarious and compassionate. She is forgiving and fierce in her love. She is non-judgmental and an open book.
She HATES OPPRESSION, she really does, I learnt this from her; her eyes flash when she believes oppression is going on, she begins to shake and she can scare a grown man at that point. Tears easily come to my mum's eyes, when she laughs, tears; when she is angry, tears as well-she is emotional and her hearts overflows often. She works hard and probably harder than the Proverbs 31 woman. You know, my favorite verse for my mum is in Proverbs 31, " Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excel them all".
If there is one clear proof that God loves me, it is giving His Son for me. The next proof is the mum He gave me.
Love you, mumsco. Happy mother's day.

Let me know what your relationship with your mum is like and please leave some dear words to your mum in the comments if you will.
Love you ladies.
